Hi I'm Aprylle, welcome to ArtMexico, the Mexican fiesta decorations company!
I work with artisans all over the country to create this amazing collection of authentic handmade Mexican fiesta, wedding & home decorations. View Shop.
I have now been living in Mexico for 9 years with my Mexican partner Jorge and now our little baby Rafael.
WHO WE SUPPLY:
All our decorations are available for individual fiestas, events planners for large scale events, wedding planners, and for retail and wholesale.
We started out nearly 10 years ago focussing purely on - ready-to-buy papel picado and custom papel picado - the iconic Mexican fiesta bunting - which is so versatile that it can literally be used at any kind of event to make it look amazing!
We now also supply; handmade ceramic sugar skulls in three sizes, multi-coloured pom pom garlands, various different types of Mexican placemats, skull coasters and lots of other fiesta décor. Everything we make is bursting with colour and all lovingly handmade by the the amazing Mexican artisans that we work with!
The artisans that we work with are the soul of ArtMexico, they make us who we are, and we would be nothing without them. We have a profound respect for their hard work and for the beautiful products that they create. We have long-standing relationships with many of them, spanning almost a decade.
Whenever we can, we support them by paying them upfront to buy new equipment, materials or to help them expand. We have even helped one of our artists to buy their own property and a truck to transport their ceramic skulls.
ArtMexico is best known for supplying el Jimador, Tequila Patrón, Monster Energy, Jose Cuervo, Sol and more big names with show stopping custom-made bunting (with their logos on the flags) plus other Mexican decorations for their branding events, Day of the Dead marketing activations and festival decor.
We also supplied the Brooklyn Museum with show stopping papel picado for their infamous Artists Ball. Google Spotlight Stories filled an entire ballroom with our papel picado for the launch of “Son of Jaguar” their 3D animated feature film. Christian Dior adorned their 2019 Cruise Collection unveil in Dubai with our all white traditional Mexican wedding flags.
After studying art & design at University I started out working in the film industry as a Props Maker making sets for big feature films. I then worked extensively in the media industry at the BBC and The Daily Telegraph as a Production Manager. It has to be noted that I was also a massive party animal too haha.
Then I went travelling…off to see the world and what adventures I could find! So to now to be settled in Mexico, happily my own boss, on the other side of the world, working with artists to make fiesta decorations for parties all over the planet…is a vivid and incredible dream!
The mix of my artistic background, high-stress production organisation skills and ex-party lover, makes ArtMexico the perfect, reliable place to come to for big events organisers, wedding planners, and festival designers, when looking for event decorations. We always get the decorations to the event on time, and manage all the shipping, customs and importation.
WHERE THE DECORATIONS ARE MADE:
Our papel picado is from both Puebla and Mexico City, our pom pom garlands are from Chiapas, our skulls are from Jalisco (but our artisans are actually from Guerrero), our placemats are from Coahuila, our papel mache is from Guanajuato…
Our artists and their families rely 100% from their craft. We support traditional age-old skills like papel picado cutting with a hammer and hundreds of differently shaped chisels, hand-weaving, and traditional painting. Every piece you buy helps preserve these Mexican traditions for the next generations.
Our ready-to-buy decorations ship out same day worldwide from our UK & USA warehouses, and can arrive next day if necessary. Our custom papel picado is produced in 4 weeks and is shipped by FedEx tracked & insured courier and arrives in 1-6 days worldwide.
We work hard to minimise the environmental impact of our packaging. We use second-hand boxes wherever possible. And are trying to move away from using plastic to biodegradable plastic, and choosing paper bags instead where possible. But the total transformation will take time.
